Challenges in the Teaching Profession

Yesterday I composed an article entitled “5 Stress Reduction Strategies for Teachers.” It was written with the specific intent of helping teachers who may be feeling overwhelmed by the job, and looking for strategies to address their stress. That being said, I was somewhat surprised when I received comments and emails which questioned what teachers had to be stressed about in the first place? This reinforced one of my missions for writing this blog in the first place, namely, educating the public in general as to what teachers actually do, and why they need and deserve public support and respect. A such, I have composed some of the main challenges teachers face in their job on a daily basis.

California Law Allows Teens to Erase Embarrassing Posts

A law was signed on Monday which makes California the first state to require websites to allow people younger than 18 to remove their own postings on that website and inform them of how to do so. Once again the State of California is showing leadership by helping our young people. They are actually doing something and not just talking about it.

School district monitors students’ social media to prevent bullying

A school district in California is attempting to stop cyberbullying and other student social issues by monitoring their posts on social media. This is a wonderful step in the right direction which has been initiated by this school district. True and noble outside the box thinking.
